Service Description

Are you a health & wellness professional (personal trainer, massage therapist, yoga instructor, fitness instructor, kinesiologist, etc...) that works with clients that are living with persistent pain? Cranky body parts? Chronic illness? Join Amber for this 6 hour training that blends the teachings of pain science, yoga therapy/fitness training, and the fundamentals of working with clients who live with persistent pain. Let's move past the old biomedical view of pain and learn how to listen and talk to clients about the new view (and science) of chronic pain. Drawing from the research and teachings of several effective pain treatment programs, we'll be working with the black strap, looking at fitness training with clients, pain science, and beyond the biopsychosocial to build psychologically informed treatment paths for individuals. This 6 hour training will take place at North Glenmore Park Community Association on Friday Feb. 27th from 6-9pm and Saturday the 28th from 1-4pm. Completion of this course will be established with a final homework assignment. PDCs available to all AKA Kinesiologists, as well as CECs for AFLCA members, and NPHC members.
